Artist of the Month: Becky Dutra-Kanaley

September 2024

Becky is an emerging, self-taught cyanotype artist. She was raised in her mother’s gardens of East Falmouth and currently calls the sweet village of Cataumet home. She began her art career in jewelry design but has recently discovered the joy cyanotype printing brings to her life. The creative process of each piece being hand-painted in cyanotype ink, incorporating plants available in the garden and relying solely on the sun to develop the print, ensures each piece is unique. This medium has taught Becky to let go of expectations and enjoy the beauty in the unexpected. This liberation and new confidence has expanded her art to include cyanotype photo transferring which  brings the sentimentality of a photo forward, in a new light.

Custom prints are available seasonally, upon request.

"May all your weeds be wildflowers."

Becky Dutra-Kanaley's art will be on display for the month of August, with select pieces available for purchase. A portion of proceeds benefit the library.
